GPA

Grade Point Average. Una representación numérica del rendimiento académico de un estudiante.

📊 What is GPA?

Grade Point Average. A numerical representation of a student's academic performance calculated by averaging the grade points earned in each course, weighted by credit hours. Most schools use a 4.0 scale where A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, and F=0.0.

GPA = (Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours

🧮 How to Calculate GPA

Step 1: Convert Grades to Points

  • A = 4.0 points
  • A- = 3.7 points
  • B+ = 3.3 points
  • B = 3.0 points
  • B- = 2.7 points

Step 2: Multiply by Credits

  • Grade Points × Credit Hours
  • Example: B (3.0) × 3 credits = 9
  • Sum all quality points
  • Divide by total credits
